Tether Taps Chainalysis Veteran to Boost Regulatory Dialogue
Tether has appointed a former Chainalysis executive to enhance regulatory engagement and economic analysis of the USDT ecosystem.

Tether today announced the appointment of Philip Gradwell as Head of Economics. Gradwell, a seasoned economist with six years at blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis, will lead Tether’s efforts to quantify its economic impact and effectively communicate the use of USDT to regulators and stakeholders.
“We are excited to welcome Philip to the Tether team,” said Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether. “His deep understanding of the digital asset space is invaluable as we work to enhance transparency and build trust.”
Gradwell’s appointment underscores Tether’s commitment to supporting the U.S. dollar. “Philip’s expertise will further solidify Tether’s role in bolstering dollar hegemony,” Ardoino added.
In a statement, Gradwell expressed enthusiasm for his new role, emphasizing the need to bridge the gap between technology and practical applications. “I aim to shift the conversation towards understanding how digital assets, particularly USDT, are integrated into the real economy,” he said. Gradwell also praised his previous work at Chainalysis for laying the groundwork for in-depth analysis of digital asset ecosystems.
