Aptos Foundation Eyes Aave V3 Integration for Non-EVM DeFi Expansion
Aptos Foundation proposes Aave V3 deployment on Aptos mainnet, potentially marking Aave’s first non-EVM foray and boosting Aptos’ DeFi ecosystem.

The Aptos Foundation is proposing to bring Aave V3, a leading decentralized lending protocol, to the Aptos mainnet. This move would mark Aave’s first deployment on a blockchain outside the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) ecosystem, potentially opening new avenues for DeFi innovation.
Currently, the proposal is in an early “temperature check” phase, gauging the sentiment of Aave’s governance community. If approved, it would progress through several stages, including a snapshot vote, an Aave Request for Comments (ARC) for detailed discussions, and finally, an official Aave Improvement Proposal (AIP) after audits and testing.
This integration holds significance for both parties. Aptos gains a popular DeFi protocol, potentially attracting developers and users to its Move-based smart contract platform. Conversely, Aave expands its reach beyond the EVM, offering its lending services to a new developer base.
